Kosovar food originates from the food of the Balkan countries, but varies slightly between different regions. The most popular Kosovar foods are traditional home-made foods such as Flija, bureku tava, but also milk (airan, cheese, maze, yogurt), meat (cow, chicken, lamb), beans, rice and peppers. Cultivation and preparation of trout fish is also traditional. Another element that is making Kosovo more popular every day is the excellent tradition of wine production, which is being exported to many European countries. Although Kosovo has a rich traditional cuisine, the many restaurants, cafes, bistros and modern hotels offer a variety of food and drink menus from different countries and cultures of the world.
